Sandra WallsQuote

A pioneer in her own right, Ms. Walls spent over 22 years as a logistics officer in the United States Air Force. Her 22-year span exposed her to many challenges and opportunities. While on active duty, Ms Walls managed supply and fuels accounts valued from $10 million to over $50 million. She was the catalyst in formulating and winning approval for the $212 million, T-37 Structural Life Extension Program (SLEP), designed to extend the service life of the existing Air Force trainer. Colonel Walls virtually made military history everywhere she commanded.

  • San Vito Supply won Professional Performer Award; first time honor given to support unit in history of USAF European Command
  • Handpicked to command Mildenhall Supply. Transformed unit from worst to the best in Europe in six months, prompting nomination as Best in USAF.
  • Led team of engineers, equipment specialists, technicians, inventory managers, and engineers to develop the T-37 SLEP Program. A process that normally takes two years to complete was done in record time. Hailed best-ever presentation of T-37 SLEP program by each command-review level
  • Handpicked to join Tiger Team, investigating production, engineering, and re-supply problems, reducing parts backlog 50%
  • Assumed complete ownership of AVPOL International LLC (AIL) in 2004, tripling revenues in three years!

Ms. Walls was nominated and selected for the prestigious Air Force Education with Industry (EWI) Program with Shell Oil Company, Houston. Ms. Walls joined the Shell Houston leadership team, learning the extensive "cradle-to-grave" petroleum refining processes. She later became the Deputy Director, Quality Assurance and Technical Services, Defense Fuel Supply Center; ending her military career at Headquarters, United States Air Force as Director of Air Force Fuels Policy.

A firm believer in the principles of "Total Quality," Ms. Walls has been successful in developing quality teams, winning numerous individual and team awards in every area of logistics. When asked, she will emphatically state that AVPOL International represents everything that she believes. "I have attempted to carry forward the basic principles of 'mission readiness' in how we respond and provide support to our clients. Quality in customer care is a top priority for AIL -- anything less is not acceptable!"
